MIND THE KERB! • Today I swapped my running kit for many, many layers and marshalled at the beautiful Abingdon Marathon. • For those of you running it I was the man shouting “WATCH OUT FOR THE KERB” over and over again! • It was my first time marshalling but definitely not my last. absolutely loved it! RUNNING IN MY OWN FOOTPRINTS • Just posted my blog post on the Oxford Half, link in my bio. It’s safe to say it was an emotional race. • Heading back to my first ever half, the race that started this ridiculous and amazing running adventure was moving for many reasons. RIP TRAINERS 👟 • You know you are running mad when you become far too attached to a pair of trainers. • These shoes saw me through my first three marathons and six half marathons. But they are falling apart and are effectively useless as shoes now so in the bin they go! • Anyone keep their shoes long after they’re useful? • Should say I didn’t actually hold a funeral for my shoes, just in case someone phones social services on me. 3 Marathons Down, 3 To Go! • Can’t believe that I still have three marathons left in 2018, whose idiotic idea was that? Oh and a 50K in December. • Paris, London and Moscow are done and dusted but... • First up is next weekend’s Snowdonia Marathon. Seven days later is the New York Marathon. Two weeks after that is the Broadway Tower Trail Marathon. • I think it’s a bit optimistic to believe that another PB is possible in one of these races if I’m honest. Snowdonia is regularly labelled one of the UK’s toughest road marathons. While New York would could be a PB course, my body will still be recovering from the brutal Welsh mountains. Broadway is a very very hilly trail race in the middle of November so just surviving it will be a miracle! • So my aim for these final few races of 2018 is simple; savour the moments! THE WIND SWEPT LOOK • Was aiming for 14 miles but my legs are still weary from Oxford Half and it was knackering running against the insane winds from Storm Callum so decided on 10 miles. I didn’t realise I did 9.9 until I uploaded it to Strava and yes it’s killing me! • Didn’t plan on a pace just went out and put some time on the clock as Snowdonia Marathon is only two weeks away, oh and New York the weekend after!
