Corner of Peace in a Bustling City

This is my final post of Amsterdam photographs and I wanted to finish with arguably the greatest part of Amsterdam; Oude Kerk. This stunning church isn’t included in a lot of peoples top things to see in the city but being the oldest building in the city makes it something special just to have survived the 700 plus years. Squashed inside the Red Light District it juts out of the filth like a pearl and while it doesn’t look like much from the outside the inside is a treasure trove. Each square foot of the church has something of quirky interest and historical importance bathed in beautiful light from the stained glass windows.

So that is it from my jaunt into Amsterdam and my next post is going to be all about how being British isn’t exactly about loving tea and knowing the footy score.
